How Much Does CCTV Installation Cost in Kenya?

How Much Does CCTV Installation Cost in Kenya?

The cost of CCTV installation in Kenya depends on five things: how many cameras you need, the type of camera, the recorder and storage, the length and difficulty of the cabling, and the installation work. A small home system and a multi building business system can differ many times over, which is why an honest installer quotes only after seeing the property.

What affects the price of a CCTV system?

Number of cameras. Every entrance, the gate, the driveway, the parking and the blind corners of the perimeter each need cover. A typical home needs between four and eight cameras; a shop or office often needs more.

Camera type. Analogue HD cameras with a DVR cost less. IP cameras with an NVR give sharper images, smarter motion detection and easier expansion. Colour night vision, wide dynamic range for gates facing the sun, and pan tilt zoom cameras all add to the price.

Recorder and storage. The recorder must have enough channels for today plus room to grow. The hard drive size decides how many days of footage you keep. Thirty days is a common target for businesses.

Cabling and power. Long cable runs, cameras on high walls, trenching between buildings and surge protection all add labour and materials. A UPS or solar backup keeps the system recording through power cuts.

Installation and setup. This covers fixing the cameras, neat trunking, configuring the recorder, setting up the phone app and training you.

Is a cheap CCTV kit good enough?

Ready made kits can work for a small flat, but they are often let down by short cables, weak night vision and a recorder that cannot be expanded. Cameras pointing at the wrong places record a lot of video and very little evidence. Placement matters more than the brand.

How do I get an accurate CCTV quote?

Book a free site survey. We walk the property with you, mark every camera position, measure the cable runs and then send a written, itemised quote listing the equipment, the work and the timeline. See our CCTV installation service or find your estate in the areas we serve.

Do you install CCTV outside Nairobi?

Yes. Our team covers the Nairobi metro directly, including Kiambu, Kajiado and Machakos, and our engineers travel to Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and every other county.
